Digital X-Rays
X-rays are one of the most important diagnostic tools in the dental office. Instead of relying on outdated film and view boxes for x-rays, our office uses digital x-rays to capture perfectly clear images. A digital sensor is used in place of traditional x-ray film and allows the x-ray image to appear directly on our computer screen within seconds.
Digital x-rays provide a clear view of the spaces between the teeth to determine if cavities have formed which cannot be seen with the naked eye. Digital x-rays also help diagnose damage and disease that is not visible during a clinical dental examination. Finally, digital x-rays are used for monitoring growth and development of the teeth and jaw.
Digital x-rays produce enhanced computer images of your teeth, gums and other oral structures and conditions. A major benefit of digital x-rays versus traditional x-rays is that they subject you, the patient, to significantly less radiation. Digital x-rays also empower us to rotate images and enhance images which allow us to see things that might not have been seen on traditional x-rays. Digital x-rays make it that much easier for our team to zoom in on problem areas. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Gary S Barker by dialing (410) 647-6453 and we will take digital x-rays of your teeth.
